Prague, May 12, 2009 - Alliance Pharmia Introduces an Advanced Model of the Pharmaceutical Care

At the beginning of this year, HMCgroup established a platform known as "Alliance Pharmia" in reaction to development of the Czech health system and as a part of its long-term concept in the area of health industry management. The project Alliance Pharmia built on a partnership of independent pharmacies shall allow deepening the level of a rendered pharmaceutical care towards patients as well as experts in the health industry.

The aim of Alliance Pharmia is an improvement in the quality and extension of pharmaceutical services, including the professional life of pharmacists and concurrently an increase in the quality of lives and health of patients through the pharmaceutical industry advanced model. The indivisible part of the project is an interconnection of cooperation with clinical experts primarily as to the outpatient care. Alliance Pharmia unites providers of the pharmaceutical care, providers of the health care and producers of pharmaceuticals and other preparations.

"This model is based on an extended principle of the pharmaceutical care, evaluates a potential of pharmacists and pharmaceutical assistants unutilized as yet as experts in the prevention of civilization diseases, experts focused not only on medicines but a patient as well as the partner and client", describes General Director of HMCgroup Lubomír Exner, MD, MBA, the advanced system of the pharmaceutical care in the Czech Republic.

The point of interest in the pharmaceutical care system is the patient. Such a trend is further projected throughout the entire health industry in the form of a care focused on the patient (patient-centered-care). The same principles apply also to the project Alliance Pharmia. At a pharmacy of Alliance Pharmia the patient receives not only its medicine and instructions for its use but also a special service in the form of consulting a manner of the health problem solution. The patient also obtains a high level of communication, meets responsible and welcoming staff and witnesses the professional customer-oriented approach.

 "Alliance Pharmia shall utilize a methodology and procedures used in the advanced health systems all over the world, the own researches of HMCgroup in the field of a pharmaceutical care, methodology for management of a customer satisfaction and management of customer relations," describes Lumír H. Kroček, MD, Executive Director of HMCgroup for Central and Eastern Europe Region, the special back settings of the project.

The model of improvement and extension of the health care relies mainly on the inter-field cooperation among members of Alliance Pharmia in the area of prevention, focuses on certain clinical units or diseases (the so-called "disease management"), clinical-patient and pharmaceutical communications, projects of the quality management, e-health and other activities.

Alliance Pharmia is also prepared to provide its members with services and consulting in the area of economy and management, human resources, strategy in development and marketing, IT, aids from subsidy sources, and specialized education.
